Edith Penrose is regarded as one of the most significant the orists of the postwar period. Her contribution to the theory of the growth of the firm has reinvented and productively developed the classical tradition in econonucs. There are two approaches to reading Penrose: the main one is the Resource-Based View; the second one， a newer reading emerging， is the Subjectvism-Based View. This book seeks to contribute to the latter. This book provides with a re-reading of Penrose’s The Theory of the Growth of the Firm （1959） through a subjectivismlens. Chen Zheng is a lecturer in the School of Business Administration. Henan University of Economics and Law Zhengzhou，China. She received her Ph.D， from the.School of Economics. National University of’ Ireland-University College Cork.She carried out her post-doctoral research in ARRIS Group Inc: USA.She lectures at both undergraduate add postgraduate levels as well as in Executive Development Programmes and Workshops.Her research interests focus on Entrepreneurial Mental Transformation， Strategic Management and Public Policy: She has published 3 books， over 20 articles in international and Chinese journals and newspapers， and has had research funded by Western and Chinese institutions.
